Therapy sessions

There is no one-size-fits all for psychotherapy, and each psychotherapist brings their own interests and experience to their work.

At the Practice we bring decades of experience treating a range of people through a variety of approaches. To start exploring what might be best for you, get to know our psychotherapists and their specialisms. Their individual contact information can be found below.

What can I expect from a session?

Across the Practice, you can expect to pay between £60 and £80 for a  session, but this can be discussed depending on your circumstances.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes, and can be in-person or online.

Our members

Siân Morgan

Siân has worked as a psychoanalytically trained psychotherapist for the last 40 years. She taught the Cambridge University Post graduate diploma in psychodynamic counselling for fifteen years and has supervised and trained therapists for over thirty years. She has written extensively on the subject of analytic psychotherapy, and for many years she was involved with the Maison Verte movement, founded by the French child analyst Francoise Dolto. She is particularly interested in training therapists and what might constitute a creative psychotherapy training.

Loraine Gelsthorpe

Loraine trained with the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy between 1998 and 2003 when she became a registered and accredited member of the UKCP. She has maintained a private psychotherapy practice since then and combines this with work as an academic criminologist, though this is no 'ivory tower' activity. Criminology is a 'real world' subject which requires close analysis and humanity. Loraine also does some counselling for university students. She has a therapeutic cat called Lottie, though Lottie mostly sleeps through the days!

Deborah Evans

Deborah has worked as a therapist for thirty years, with ten years as a senior Dramatherapist in psychiatric hospitals. She originally speciallised in the field of learning disabilities before going on to work in a medium secure hospital. A registered supervisor and psychoanalytic psychotherapist (UKCP), Deborah has had a private practice for the last twenty years. She is a lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University and has published multiple papers. She is a trained practitioner of EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) which she uses with both adults and children. In her free time, Deborah also enjoys painting abstract landscapes.

Bella Stewart

Bella trained with the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy and has over 10 years of experience working with young adults through to people in their late seventies and beyond. Part of her background training is in performance, including vocal and physical practices, much of which informs her psychoanalytic work.
